Zergin Privacy Policy

Last Modified: December 11, 2020

We are providing you with this policy to help you understand how we collect and use information about you and what choices you have about it.

What information we collect

  • Account Information. When you sign up for Zergin or modify your Zergin Profile, you give us certain information voluntarily. This information may include your name, email address, username, payment information, bio, or profile picture. We also store your user account preferences.
  • Content you submit. We store anything you send us, including images, posts, comments, saved drafts, and any other information you provide us via our website or mobile applications.
  • Actions you take on the site. We store information about actions you take on the website including joining, creating, or moderating communities, interacting with posts by viewing, saving, voting, and reporting, as well as purchases you make.
  • Technical Information. Whenever you use any website, mobile application, or other internet services, certain information gets created and logged automatically. The same is true for Zergin. Data we collect through these processes include:
    • your search queries, communities you browse, posts you view, including the date and time of requests
    • device information such as hardware model, operating system version, and unique identifiers
    • your device's Internet Protocol address
    • the browser you use

How we use the information

Our goal with Zergin is to show you content that you will find interesting and useful. We aim to constantly be improving and growing the service with new features the community will love. We use the information you provide us to do that by:

  • Identifying you when you use Zergin
  • Recommending communities and posts based on your activity on Zergin, communities you are subscribed to, and posts and comments you have made
  • To process your payment transactions
  • Working with law enforcement to keep Zergin safe
  • Reviewing posts, comments, and communities for activity that may violate our terms or pose safety risks to you or other visitors to our service
  • Researching how users use our service and reviewing analytics data to add new features and fix the website as necessary
  • Showing you relevant ads for Zergin products or services you may be interested in
  • Sending you notifications, such when new content or features get added to the service that you may be interested in
  • Providing you with customer service, to make it possible to identify problems with your account and the site when necessary
  • Measuring the effectiveness of ads on our service

Choices you have

We want you to have easy to use control over how your information gets used. If you have a Zergin account, you may control your information in the following ways:

  • You may edit your profile, adding or removing any personal information from the service whenever you wish
  • You may choose what notifications you receive from us or opt-out of receiving notifications completely in your profile settings
  • You may delete communities you have created or posts and comments you have posted
  • You may close your account at any time. By closing your account, your profile will be removed and your posts and comments will become unattributed. If you have posts or comments you would like to delete completely, you may do so before closing your account. Some or all of your data may be retained for a limited time in our backup systems. We also may retain any data as requested by law enforcement.
  • You may request access to the information we collect and hold about you. We'll usually share this information within 30 days of you asking us for it
  • You may request us to stop using your information. You can opt out of communications from us in your profile, or remove your information completely by deleting your posts and comments, and closing your account.

How long we keep your information

We keep your information as long as we need it to provide you with our services described above, and no longer. For example, we must keep a record of your username as long as you have your account so that you may log in at any time.

How we protect your information

Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible. Information you supply us is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. We implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order, enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information. All financial transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

How and when we share your information

We value your privacy. We do not directly sell your personal information. We do as much as we can in-house so as not to share your data unnecessarily. However, there may be times when it is necesary to share your information, such as

  • If and when it is requested by law enforcement. We only share information we believe is reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, or a legal request
  • Third-party companies and service providers that we employ to process information for the purposes described in this policy. For example, providing comments and IP Addresses to a provider to help identify spam.

Third Party Links

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third-party products or services on our website. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We, therefore, have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

How we handle "Do Not Track" requests

We support Do Not Track signals and when detected we limit the information we collect to what is absolutely necessary for the proper functionality of the site.

Our policy on children's information

Children under 13 are not allowed to use Zergin. Parents are responsible for registering for a Zergin account and for their children's use of and access to content available on the Internet or otherwise via Zergin's Services.

Updates to this policy

From time to time, we may update this policy. We will notify you about material changes by either sending an email message you have provided to us, or by prominently posting a notice on our Service. We encourage you to periodically check back here for updates.
